Local saves and progress
Understand where Favorites, recent games, and game progress are stored.
Two kinds of local records
Dayhop stores Favorites and Recently Played in this browser. Games can separately store settings, unlocked stages, records, or progress. Removing a game from Favorites does not reset its own save, and clearing the recent list does not delete a campaign.
The address matters
Browser storage belongs to an origin: protocol, hostname, and port. A preview at localhost and one at 127.0.0.1 can therefore have different saves. Another device, browser profile, or future production address will also have separate data. Dayhop has no account-based synchronization.
When a game moves to an external host
Dayhop’s nineteen larger games now load from their own game domains. Their previous Dayhop-hosted saves do not migrate automatically. Keep earlier browser data and use a game’s own export/import feature where available. Embedded storage may be partitioned or blocked by your browser; opening the game directly can help, but a separate tab may have a separate storage context. Dayhop cannot silently read or copy saves across origins.
Before reloading or clearing data
Check the game's save indicators and pause/settings menu. Midnight Canteen keeps its business progress locally. The Secret Pact: Sky Garden provides game-specific save controls. Export and import availability depends on the game and bundled version; use only controls actually shown there.
Keep a downloaded backup if an export option is available. Do not assume closing a tab, finishing a tutorial, or opening a new game creates a backup. Clearing site data can remove both Dayhop lists and the games' local records. Private browsing may discard data when its session ends.
When a record looks missing
Return to the same browser profile and exact address first. Check whether the game is paused or waiting for Continue. Avoid starting a new campaign until you have checked its existing-save options. Browser storage is convenient, but it is not a cloud backup.
